Commercial ASIC Immersion: Compatibility and Operating Costs

On By Kevin Tassé

Equipment and compatibility

Immersion cooling places compatible equipment in a purpose-specified dielectric fluid. The complete system includes tanks, circulation, heat exchange and external heat rejection. Confirm the miner revision, fluid compatibility, electrical arrangements and manufacturer or supplier warranty before selecting a tank.

Installation and checks

Removing onboard fan noise does not make the facility silent: pumps and external coolers still need assessment. Include their electricity, fluid handling, filtration or service requirements and safe maintenance access in the operating plan. Do not assume a standard overclocking gain or longer equipment life.

Costs and written terms

Compare capital cost, commissioning, complete electrical demand and recurring service with the alternatives for the same fleet. Any revenue scenario needs dated network and price assumptions. Ask for a written installation scope, responsibilities and repair procedures; immersion alone does not establish a return.
