Direct Liquid Cooling for ASICs: Plan the Complete System

On By Kevin Tassé

Equipment and compatibility

Direct liquid cooling transfers heat through a compatible circuit at the equipment; it is distinct from submerging a miner in an immersion tank. Check the exact hydro model and manual before specifying racks, connections, coolant, pumps and heat rejection equipment.

Installation and checks

Confirm available electrical capacity and the cooling specification for the full deployment. Include auxiliary consumption, monitoring, leak response, fluid maintenance and external fan noise. A cooler chip temperature does not establish unlimited operation in hot weather or a guaranteed hashrate increase.

Costs and written terms

Request separate prices for machines, infrastructure, commissioning and recurring services. Clarify who owns and maintains each component and how equipment is recovered at contract end. Compare alternatives using the same load and conditions, without treating cooling as a promise of profitability.
