Choosing a Kaspa ASIC: Model, Power and Batch Checks

On By Kevin Tassé

Verify the algorithm first

A Kaspa purchase requires a compatible kHeavyHash ASIC. A brand name is not enough: manufacturers sell machines for several networks. Confirm the full model and algorithm on the datasheet instead of assuming that an iBeLink, IceRiver or BITMAIN product mines Kaspa.

A verified reference: Antminer KS5 Pro

BITMAIN lists the KS5 Pro at 21 TH/s and 3,150 W at 25°C, with typical efficiency of 150 J/TH, equivalent to 0.15 J/GH. The manufacturer states ±3% hashrate and ±5% power variation. These values describe that reference, not every KS-series machine or a promise that it is the best purchase today.

Compare each actual offer

Record the model, batch, hashrate, power, condition, included supply, warranty and delivery date. For other Kaspa models, obtain their own manufacturer sheets. Compare efficiency using the same units and operating conditions; a larger hashrate can also mean a larger electrical load.

Budget for operation and changing network conditions

Kaspa's network hashrate, block rewards and coin price affect mining receipts. Calculate electricity from the selected machine's power and operating hours, then add cooling, pool fees, maintenance and hosting charges if relevant. Neither a low equipment price nor an older profitability screenshot guarantees a margin.

Prepare a useful quote request

Confirm your electrical supply, ventilation and noise constraints, or request hosting acceptance for the exact model. Send Captain Mining your shortlist, quantity, destination, budget currency and timing. Ask for an itemized written offer and the proposed service terms before committing.
